Don’t count on the luck of the Irish to keep you safe and out of jail.
St. Patrick’s Day is this weekend! Many people will choose to celebrate by attending St. Patty’s Day parties, going to bars, or enjoying festivities outside.
49th Street Bail Bonds offers these tips for having fun and staying safe:
•Don’t drink and drive.
•Have a designated driver.
•If no one wants to be a designated driver than have an alternate way to get to and from the party/bar. Uber, Lyft, or a taxi are great alternatives. Decide this before leaving home.
•Don’t bring valuables with you. Things can get lost or stolen in a large group of people (think pickpockets).
•Stay aware of your surroundings. Look for alternate exits at your location and be on the lookout for anything that seems out of place.
•Go with friends and leave with the same friends. Don’t let anyone leave alone or with a stranger. Don’t let your friend drive drunk either.
•Make sure to eat. Alternate alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic ones.
•Watch your drinks. Do not leave your drink unattended and do not accept drinks from someone other than a bartender or waitress. Even non-alcoholic drinks can be drugged.
•Make sure your phone is charged and ready to use. Consider bringing a battery charger with you.
•Avoid fights or anyone looking for a fight. Oftentimes, alcohol brings out the worst in someone and things can get out of hand.
•When driving home, be extra vigilant. While you may be sober, other people on the road may not be. Be aware that some party-goers may have decided to walk home so be careful of pedestrians.
