Spring Break is Almost Here!

49th Street Bail Bonds wants you to have fun but be safe during spring break.

Here are a few tips for staying safe and out of jail this spring break:
•Traveling to your destination? Make sure to take turns behind the wheel. Keep the doors locked and the windows closed. Stay on the beaten path. Don’t pick up hitchhikers. Don’t drink and drive.
•Once you arrive at your destination, use discretion in saying your room number. Try and stay in a room that isn’t on the first floor since those rooms are easier to break into. Make sure that all doors and windows are locked in your hotel room. Keep your door locked and do not answer the door for people you do not know. Use the hotel safe to store your valuables.
•Use well-lit ATM’s to withdraw cash from. Shield your PIN number with your hand. Do not let a stranger help you with using an ATM.
•Use the buddy system. Stay with your friends and leave with your friends. Do not leave with a stranger and don’t let your friends leave with a stranger.
•When drinking, always get your drink from the bartender. Watch your drink and do not leave it alone. Keep one hand over your drink. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks can be drugged. Eat before drinking and pace yourself when drinking. Do not drink alcohol out of an open source such as a punch bowl, pitcher, or tub. Never drink and drive!
•Have a code word to let your friends know if you are in an uncomfortable situation and need help.
•Do not post on social media. Be wary sharing your location by “checking in” on a social site. Be careful about revealing personal information or location with updates on tweets such as #springbreak or #springbreak18.
•Say no to drugs. Do not buy, sell, or use drugs.
•If you need help, ask for it.
