Halloween Safety Tips

Jack o lanterns, bats, and things that go bump in the night, it must be Halloween!

49th Street Bail Bonds wants you and your family to have a fun and safe Halloween.

Here are a few tips for staying safe and out of jail this Halloween:

•Going to a party this Halloween? Don’t drink and drive. Plan on having a designated driver, use a ride share service such as Uber or Lyft, or plan on staying the night at the party location.
•Check to make sure that your costume is safe. Do you have a long cape that could trip someone or get tangled up? Are your props too realistic looking (such as a prop gun/whip/chainsaw)? Can you see out of your mask? Double check your costume to make sure you and others are safe.
•If attending a party at a bar, only accept drinks from the bartender or your server.
•Remember that alcohol lowers inhibitions. Beware those who look like they might have consumed too much alcohol. A minor infraction can get blown out of proportion and lead to a fight or altercation.
•Make sure to eat and pace yourself if you are drinking alcohol.
•If you are going to a haunted house, go sober.
•When entering a haunted house, make sure to scope out the emergency exits. Better safe than sorry.
•If the haunted house appears too crowded then wait to enter.
•Wear comfortable shoes that you can walk in. You don’t want to trip over flip flops or not be able to walk due to heels.
•When trick or treating, make sure to supervise children.
•Do not enter any homes.
•Wear reflective clothing or bring a flashlight.
•Be careful when walking and look out for traffic.
•If driving on Halloween, drive slowly and obey all traffic regulations. Remember, kids are excited and likely to run into the road without looking.

Unfortunately, things can get dangerous and people can get hurt. Use caution and share these tips with your kids for a safe Halloween.
